Haines CYD T-Ball and Soccer will be closing the season with a BBQ, Tuesday, July 24th at the soccer field. All soccer groups (big and little kids), will play from 4:30-5:30, with the BBQ following. Hope to see you there!

This is the last week to see “From Forest to Finish: A Story of Wood in the Chilkat Valley”, a collaborative Six Week Spotlight exhibit between the museum and the Alaska Arts Confluence. The exhibit celebrates our forests, the role the trees play in our valley, and the people who are supported by our vast and beautiful timber resource. On display in the Hakkinen Gallery until July 14th.

Volunteers are needed to throw color at participating runners for the July 25th Color Run. The race is being held to raise awareness against domestic abuse. Other volunteer help needed as well.

SEADOGS,SAR Dog and Handler based in Haines will be starting to hold weekly training sessions on Wednesday evenings starting July 11. The sessions are open to anyone interested in finding out more about SEADOGS or search dogs in general or interested in attending training sessions as a volunteer. Studio Incamminati artist and instructor Natalie Italiano will conduct a three-hour painting demonstration Tuesday, July 10, from 6–9 p.m at the Haines Sheldon Museum.
Natalie is in Haines teaching a color study still life painting workshop July 9th through 13th.
The Tuesday night demo is free and open to workshop participants and the general public.
