Can you sing, dance, or perform? Then come show us your talent at the Haines Talent Show. Hosted by the National Honor Society at the Haines School. It is open to all ages!

Due to a scheduling mishap. The show has been moved to April 5th.

Not interested in performing? Then come anyways and enjoy a nice Yellow Chicken Curry with a show.

The House Transportation Committee will take public testimony regarding the Alaska Marine Highway System on Thursday (3/14/19) from 1:30pm – 3pm. The Haines Borough Public Library Community Room will be available for the public to listen in/call.

Those who want to testify about AMHS at the library must show up by 1:15 p.m. to sign up. There’s no assurance anyone in Haines will get a chance, but they will have a better chance if they show up by 1:15 or call in themselves (844-586-9085).

Spaghetti Feed to support the HHS Boys Basketball Team in their travel expenses to the State Tournament. Monday, 6pm at the School Cafeteria. $10 for adults, $7 for ages ten and under. DONATIONS GLADLY ACCEPTED.

The team will leave for the State Tournament Tuesday Morning.

Communities all over Alaska are meeting to learn about the proposed state budget and what impact it could have on our way of life. Learn and give input to the governor and legislators on the state services that are important to you and how you think the state might fund them.

Have you seen the latest exhibit at the Sheldon Museum?

"Attu75: War Came to a Wilderness" is a traveling exhibit through the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Attu. In addition to photography and prose, the exhibit showcases eleven art assemblages by local artist Andrea Nelson.

The exhibit is on display through the end of March. Come check it out before it's gone! Open Monday - Saturday, 1-4pm. Free admission to local residents.

The Jilkaat Kwaan Heritage Center is having a special opening on Saturday, March 9th, from 11-2. A Bear Clan Story by Clan Leader Joe Hotch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the Haines women’s basketball team's costs for the Gold Medal Basketball Tournament in Juneau. Karlie Spud and Krista Kielsmeier have tickets for purchase. Thank you for all the support from Klukwan for our team!
