Public Works is making upgrades to Young Road. Special attention should be given to intersection signs. Several signs that were previously “Yield” signs have been changed to “Stop” signs. Brushing has been done at some intersections for better visibility and some road widening is also occurring.

Don’t miss this hilarious and delicious dinner theater sponsored by LCCP. The Chilkat Center lobby will be transformed into the White House where President Johnson and Secretary of State Seward will host YOU and the Russians to a scrumptious 5-course meal and proceed to make the deal to purchase Alaska. You’re encouraged to choose to be a famous character of the era for the evening, adding more depth to this historical moment in time. Tickets at the Babbling Book. Advance purchase necessary.

Reminder: Wednesday (4/12) 6:30pm Town Hall Meeting on Police Response Outside Townsite (at Mosquito Lake Community Center). We are seeking feedback at this event and/or one 5:30pm April 19th at the Haines library. Some proposals shared with staff for funding police response would require either a vote by residents of a service area or a vote by residents of the entire borough. We would like to get as much feedback up front as possible. Comments may also be submitted to kkielsmeier@haines.ak.us.
