The Water Department will be performing maintenance to the FAA water main on April 26, 2017. All residences connected to the main south of the FAA and Tower Road intersection will experience an interruption in service while work is being performed. Water will be shut off starting at 9am on April 26th and is expected to be restored by 5pm the same day.

Hospice of Haines is looking for volunteers to bake goods to sell at their annual rummage sale.
The rummage sale usually makes a nice profit on baked goods. It is a way that you can assist Hospice of Haines continue to help our wonderful community. Your contributions will be valued and appreciated!
Please bring baked goods to Harriet Hall on Friday, May 5th. If that's not possible, bring them Saturday a.m. All items should be packaged ready to sell.

Saturday, April 29, 2017. Two sessions: 10:00am- Noon, 1:00pm-3:00pm, in high school home economics kitchen. Each student will roll 6 rolls of sushi to take home.
Haines Bowl For Kids Sake is coming up tomorrow! I have the answers to all your questions. There are three bowling sessions 4:00, 5:30 and 7:00. If you are already on a team, ask your team captain which time you are scheduled for. If you are not a team, we have space for walk-ins. (Suggested donation $20 adults/$15 children, there will be pizza and prizes!) Come at one of the three listed times, and if you are bigger group, then please come at 7pm. Public Works is making upgrades to Young Road. Special attention should be given to intersection signs. Several signs that were previously “Yield” signs have been changed to “Stop” signs. Brushing has been done at some intersections for better visibility and some road widening is also occurring.

Reminder: Wednesday (4/12) 6:30pm Town Hall Meeting on Police Response Outside Townsite (at Mosquito Lake Community Center). We are seeking feedback at this event and/or one 5:30pm April 19th at the Haines library. Some proposals shared with staff for funding police response would require either a vote by residents of a service area or a vote by residents of the entire borough. We would like to get as much feedback up front as possible. Comments may also be submitted to email@example.com.
