The Haines High Cheer Team is hosting a Halloween movie night fundraiser. We are offering two options for your enjoyment. Friday, October 29th, we will be showing a family-friendly animated movie; The Addams Family while Saturday's feature, Lights Out, is rated PG-13 and is intended for a more mature audience.

It has been another challenging year. Please join us for the Hospice of Haines Light the Night on the Port Chilkoot Dock, Saturday, October 23 from 6:30-8pm to light a candle and remember your loved ones.

Volunteers are asked to meet with their Little 2-4x per month.
Recent activities other matches have participated in are: Visiting the new art at the skate park, open swim, walking the dog on the beach, hikes, baking at the Big's home, visiting the Bald Eagle Foundation, chess at the library, basketball on the outdoor courts, attending First Friday, planting bulbs and golfing
Hey Haines! I am working on making matches in Haines again under a grant that expires in December. The clock is ticking to make matches! We have made two matches. We have one match pending (should be activated this month). We have two youth waiting for Bigs: A 12 year old male youth (profiled on here previously) and a NEW 7 year old female.

The youth wants a Big so that he can have somebody to talk to, hang out with, and depend on.
He enjoys cooking with his mom. He likes animals, specifically dogs and chickens. He enjoys playing outside and sports. He likes building with legos. He reported to staff he could use some help learning to build a fire and with his reading. He has considered becoming a gold miner when he gets older.

She is crafty and enjoys making earrings and clothing. She does well with her peer relationships. She enjoys writing poetry and sometimes needs help coming up with rhyming words. The youth wants her Big to know that her family is really nice and they enjoy hikes, going to the beach, and playing board games. She said that she sometimes needs help with math.
